Christian Education

Like all relationships, our relationship with God must be nurtured, cared for, challenged and transformed. As Episcopalians, we recognize God working in the world through scripture, tradition and reason. Growing in faith through Christian formation, such as Sunday School Bible Study groups are times when we gather outside of worship, and, together discover and learn the context of our faith beliefs within the world we live in.

Like all relationships, our relationship with God must be nurtured, cared for, challenged and transformed. If we do not take care of it, it will become irrelevant and die. As Episcopalians, we recognize God working in the world through scripture, tradition and reason. We worship. We study. We pray. This intentional time in God’s presence invites us to recognize God working in the world, transforming us into good stewards of all that has been entrusted to our care.

Growing in faith is challenging and rewarding. It is not easy. Sometimes we find a zone and discover God. Other times, it is difficult and the journey of faith overwhelms us.

We are opened to each other through Christian formation, such as Sunday School or Education for Ministry (EfM).  When we gather outside of worship, we make ourselves available to each other, together to discover and learn the context of our faith beliefs within the world we live in. In the St James Café, we sit over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine to spend time together, nourishing our souls through the arts, and music and conversation.

At St James, we gather socially to support each others’ journeys of faith. - See more at: http://www.saintjamescathedral.org/formation/#sthash.r47ZYtO5.dpuf
