Deacons have responded to the call from God to
a ministry of leadership through service – to seek

and to serve. The Deacons do a lot of listening to parishioners concerns maintaining a pastoral
and confidential presence. 


Ushers play a vital role in welcoming people
to our services, handing out the bulletins, and

also assisting anyone with directions or assistance going to communion.

Acolytes serve in various roles during the worship service to help make the worship experience complete. Acolytes may begin serving in 4th grade and continue through high school.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a quiet behind-the-scenes ministry that has the honor of handling, preparing and caring for the blessed pieces of silver and brass and linens used on the Altar.

Lectors proclaim the Word of God from the Old and New Testaments and lead the Prayers of the People.

Crystal Lake Food Pantry

Volunteers staff a day at the pantry and help local families shop for food and personal products.

Christmas Basket Program

Organized by the Revive Center for Housing and Healing, this ministry helps impoverished families

in our metropolitan area with gift cards or Christmas gifts.

St. Mary's Seniors

This group gathers around the table to enjoy friendship and laughter and share a delicious meal in harmony and peace.

PADS Meals

Chair Yoga 

Chair Yoga is a seated yoga class that helps to develop strength and balance.

Coffee Hour Hosts

An encouraging, fellowship time in the Great Hall,

run by scheduled volunteers and offered after each worship service.

Greeters Ministry

The goal of this ministry is to be warm and inviting, a good listener and to respond to the needs of everyone attending St. Mary’s.

Welcome Bakers

The purpose of this ministry is to welcome a newcomer’s first visit by delivering a loaf of home-baked bread and some welcome gifts to their home the week of their first visit.

Alcoholics Anonymous

St. Mary is proud to support numerous Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Tarpley House.
